Ever since Andie saw Jake and the Neverland Pirates on the Disney Channel she has been constantly talking about Jake and how cute she thinks he is. Andie loves the show and now wants a Pirate birthday party instead of a Strawberry Shortcake party. One night Andie wanted to dress up like a pirate so, I pulled out an old Halloween costume and put together a pirate outfit for Ashton. I think they look pretty good!
I happened to have a large empty box lying around and suggested we make a pirate boat. Andie was so excited and quickly started to color on the box. She was calling it "Bucky", which is what Jake calls his boat on the Disney show. I just had to laugh at Andie because she was just so happy to be a pirate. I like that she loves a show that doesn't get old after the second episode. Since she asks to watch it just about every second.
The kids had a good time pretending to be pirates, I can only hope that I can pull off this Jake and the Neverland Pirate Birthday party next month. So, if anyone has any pirate ideas pass them along my way.
St. Patricks Day was super fun this year in the Polster house! Ashton wanted to build a trap for the leprechaun's. Ash and Andie had a so much fun getting the trap ready that they had a hard time going to bed because they were to excited to sleep. Ashton's idea to catch the leprechauns was to use gold as the bait. I thought it was a pretty tricky idea.
In the morning the kids found a green bucket of candy and a gold trail from there rooms to the kitchen. Of course, there was Lucky charms and Green milk. The kids were amazed by the green milk and that those sneaky leprechauns made a total disaster of our house. Chairs were knocked over, pillows were all over the living room, and shoes were tossed everywhere. Let's not forget about the trap, Andie and Ashton were suprised to find out that we did not catch a leprechaun and that they took all the gold. Ashton already has a plan for next year!
The kids got cute matching green shirts, which they absolutely loved. Ashton and Andie also had a good time taking pictures together. They really are quite the silly pair!
Now, of course I can't go through a holiday without planning a special dinner. We had green chicken, green potatoes, green salad, green peas, green apples, green biscuts and green juice. I also added, everyones favorite treats to the menu. Tj loves rolos, Andie loves gum so I got her green gum, Ashton loves chocolate and of course there was plenty of chocolate. Dessert was Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream with whip cream and a golden treat in the bottom of the bowl that the kids found.
